Greater Plymouth CHNA Sponsorship Launch
Greater Plymouth CHNA (CHNA 23) has been serving the community for over thirty years, working to improve health outcomes for residents of the region.
We provide monthly educational programs for our members on a wide variety of relevant topics. In the last few years, we have had panels on recovery, housing, food insecurity, transportation, and Behavioral Health. We strive to bring informative presentations from knowledgeable speakers on topics of interest and relevance to our members and their work.
Our longtime tradition has been to support organizations and agencies committed to furthering our mission of improving health outcomes. We have accomplished this through grant programs that we continue to this day despite the policy change at the state level that directs community health funds away from the CHNA system. In 2024 alone, we awarded over $13,000 in mini-grants to groups working to improve access to health care, promoting wellness and health literacy. In previous years, GPCHNA made a major investment in Behavioral Health through its major grant program, which gave sustained, multi-year awards to several agencies working to improve access to mental health and substance use interventions.
In addition, there are costs to administering the work of this CHNA, including maintaining a website, keeping official records, and processing our financial transactions. To date, we have been fortunate to rely n the continued financial sponsorship offered to us by Beth Israel Deaconess-Lahey Hospital in Plymouth.
We want to continue this work so we are turning to our member agencies and organizations for support. Over the summer the Steering Committee has decided to implement a formal sponsorship program for members who are willing and able to support our work. We have set a minimum annual contribution of $75 for members who are able to make this commitment to continuing our important work. We also will be offering event sponsorships at higher levels for annual events such as the Health Literacy Awards and the Fall Fest Health Fair.
We are very grateful to BIDL Plymouth and to Old Colony YMCA for committing to be sponsors of GPCHNA’s work. We hope that some members who have the wherewithal can join them in keeping this CHAN alive and well for years to come.
